The restoration philosophy implemented by the Ma2 Office aims to rediscover a lost heritage, the objective is to return to the Pristine state. Despite the little graphic documentation on the original project, preliminary studies (historical, stratigraphy, archaeological and pathological) have enabled to discover plenty of traces of the original scenery and thus reconstruct them, almost in their entirety. Where the vestiges were too incomplete, a clearly identifiable interpretation is implemented. After a study of three years, the recent restoration has been the subject of two years of construction work. We find today a complete work, where the original identity of the architect Gustave Strauven was re-insufflated by the precious work of workers and craftsmen at the service of the architectural heritage.
