AHI Architectural Heritage Intervention

“Contributing to enhancing our heritage, as the way forward for 21 st Century architecture is our raison d’être; to emphasize a diverse, rich vision that necessarily complements the intervention is our mission, and achieving it with reflexive and purposeful efforts is the challenge”.

This project, founded in, and directed since, 2011 by Ramon Calonge, Oriol Cusidó, Marc Manzano and Jordi Portal, architects and members of the Group of Architects for the Defence and Intervention in Architectural Heritage (AADIPA), has, through the years become a platform that includes four actions that are both independent and transversal.

The European Award, a biennial event that brings together and showcases the multiple approaches of intervention in Europe.

The International Biennial, a framework that serves to compare and gain closer insight of quality interventions in architectural heritage in non-European countries.

The digital Archive, a live and open window that provides a panoramic view of interventions in the history of our surroundings.

The Forum, a meeting place where you can participate in on-going debates about the main preoccupations and lines of thought about interventions in architectural heritage in Europe.

An Archive on European Architectural Heritage Intervention

An Archive on European Architectural Heritage Intervention

25 January 2017

The European Award for Architectural Heritage Intervention AADIPA, since its inception in 2012, has advocated and worked to achieve a twin purpose; distinguishing good patrimonial practice and contributing to its disclosure. In keeping with the latter task and coinciding with the opening of registration for the 3rd edition, the publication of an international archive on heritage has been unveiled on its website. A window to showcase all the works presented in the competition, throughout its trajectory, as well as other interventions selected by an expert scientific committee, which respond to the criteria of good practice in the heritage field.

An open and living archive, which can be accessed from the Website of the Award, under the heading in the main menu, Archive. The user will then be taken to a page where the required content can be accessed using a search engine or by filtering a query using criteria such as the country of origin or the author. A simple, usable proposal taking the form of an information source which brings together works and makes them available to all-professionals, researchers, the university community and the general public- while providing a snapshot to the memory of our surroundings.

The organizing committee of the European Award for Architectural Heritage Intervention AADIPA encourages everyone to check out and consult this digital platform archive, which aims to become a documentary reference on the state of affairs in European Heritage Intervention.
