The event will take place in the Paranimf (ceremonial hall) of the Escola Industrial de Barcelona, graciously offered for the occasion by Barcelona Provincial Council, a collaborating entity of the European Award AHI. Once again, architectural professionals will gather from across Europe to honour and showcase heritage intervention in all its forms.
During the ceremony, the finalists and winners of the Award will be announced, in each of its four categories: Built Heritage, Outdoor Spaces, Urban Planning and Dissemination. The winners of the two special mentions of the Award – New European Bauhaus and Restoration – will also be announced.
Hosted by journalist Carolina Rosich, the ceremony will be attended by representatives of the public institutions supporting the Award: the Department of Culture of the Government of Catalonia, Barcelona Provincial Council, the Metropolitan Area of Barcelona and Barcelona City Council, as well as the members of the jury, the dean of the Architects’ Association of Catalonia and the directors of the Award.

The Paranimf: an iconic space rehabilitated as a multipurpose venue
Originally designed by the architect Joan Rubió i Bellver in 1926, the Paranimf serves as the academic assembly hall of the complex. The unfinished structure remained closed to the public until just a few years ago, when it was completed and rehabilitated as a multipurpose venue, with its most striking feature being the central dome, measuring 20 metres in diameter.
The rehabilitation project was drafted and directed by Jordi Campanillas and Verònica Martínez, of the Projects and Works Service of Barcelona Provincial Council. The construction work was supervised by Dilmé Fabré Torras i Associats and executed by the UTE [Temporary Joint Venture] Paranimf Escola Industrial i Comsa Instalaciones y Sistemas Industriales S.L.U.
