Jorba’s castle is located at the top of Puig de la Guàrdia, in the municipality of Jorba, and represents sedimentation of the uses acquired throughout the centuries. The intervention consists in facilitating the access to the watchtower, highlighting its original function. The archaeological works allowed to unearth structures of the different stages that are consolidated, reusing stones found in the excavation works. The stones unused are collected next to the path, waiting to be reused in later phases. Due to the access difficulties, the works have been carried out by manual means and materials used were easy to handle and transport. An old existing path is used as a route for the first section of the new access. The following section is perpendicular to the walls of the castle and offers a view of its north elevation. The last section is tangent to the main guideline of the walls and allows direct contact with the archaeological remains. Once you reach the upper level you get a view of the village of Jorba and the old royal road.
